This 4 Days Bwindi Gorilla tour is an excellent package taking you for double gorilla trekking safari in Uganda’s Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will visit two gorilla families on different days which are surely a memorable experience. This means you have to book for two gorilla permits because each day you go a different gorilla family hence calling for more than one permit.
Day 1: Pick up & Transfer to Bwindi forest national park
After arriving at the airport, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will transfer you to Bwindi impenetrable forest national park. You will have a stop at the equator for photography and an en-route lunch at Igongo cultural centre in Mbarara. After lunch, proceed to Kabale reaching in the evening. The entire journey will take you roughly 8-9 hours’ drive. Dinner and overnight at Chameleon lodge/Bakiga lodge.
Day 2: 1st Gorilla trekking and Batwa cultural walk
After an early breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters for briefing from the Park rangers about the dos and don’ts while with the Gorillas, before embarking on the memorable activity of tracking the giant apes. The gorillas trek will take you through thick vegetation and the ease of finding the Gorillas will depend on the movement of the animals with in their natural habitat. A maximum of one hour will be allowed with the Gorillas for photographing and observation. Later descend to your Lodge for late Lunch. In the evening, if interested, you may go for cultural walk to nearby communities, where you will be entertained by the Batwa Community, and learn more about their ways of living. Dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Second Gorilla Trekking Tour
This is another day for second gorilla trekking tour in Bwindi National Park! It is always more rewarding to visit a different gorilla family from the previous day. It’s amazing to think there are only about 650 of these beautiful creatures left! If you have the energy this afternoon, take a guided walk on the Munyanga River trail, which is an ideal short walk. This trail leads to three delightful crystal clear waterfalls, and there is a profusion of tree ferns, epiphytic ferns, orchids and Bwindi’s colourful array of butterflies. Here you may also see birds and primates from the forest edge. Return to the lodge and relax in the evening as you wait for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer back to Kampala
Take your breakfast at leisure at your hotel and later be ready to drive back to Kampala. Stop over at the equator for photography if you please your guide will drop you at your hotel or at the airport for your scheduled flight back home.
